What do cupcakes and infidelity have in common? Bethany St. James says it’s a craving for the forbidden. Curiosity about cheating on your spouse and viewing pornography can cause cheating and pornography to become bigger issues than they should be and make them more alluring and tempting. Allowing such things to occupy us isn’t good for our relationships. St. James says we need to spend more energy on those things that aren’t forbidden: family fun time, romantic dates, and making love. Giving power to these areas of our lives takes the energy from the forbidden and places it where it’s more effective and more satisfying.
