What now?
Most of the popular literature on affairs doesnt tell you how to really thrive in a relationship AFTER an affair. The books and articles out there are well meaning, but they always seem to end with the magical concept of “forgiveness” as the answer to long standing happiness.
This implies that nothing bad ever happened before this latest betrayal.
If we say “Im sorry” and “I forgive you” what happens after that? Very little is written about recovering intimacy in a marriage or committed relationship after someone has cheated.
So….what happens after forgiveness?
An affair isn’t really over until there is what I call……..erotic recovery.
Until the couple reconnects sexually, they are not over the affair; that third person is still in bed with them.
