Most of you know that Anthony Weiner, our Congressional Representative from New York, got caught with his pants down; literally. He texted or “sexted” photos of his penis to several people that were followers on his twitter account. This is not a surprise, is it? We hear about people sending photos of themselves every day over the internet. But you would think that the public figures – politicians, congressmen, actors – would all pay attention to the possible consequences of there actions – their behavior affects their families and their followers.
Is Weiner going to sex addiction rehab a way to avoid the fall out of his actions or does he have a real problem?
The one question to ask is “Has he tried to stop and cannot, regardless of the consequences?”
Only Anthony knows the answer to that question. If he has tried to stop and found he cannot do it on his own then he definitely needs treatment. His exhibitionism may be out of control and he really may need a place to feel safe to do the work he needs.
