Book Review: Marty Klein’s Sexual Intelligence: What We Really Want from Sex—and How to Get It

Marty Klein is an esteemed colleague and I’ve enjoyed working with him on teleseminars in the past. His latest book, “Sexual Intelligence: What We Really Want from Sex—and How to Get It,” is a clear discussion of the societal expectations related to sex and how to circumvent them to create a more fulfilling, passionate sex life. The book is both for the consumer and for therapists. With a brain-heart-body focus, Klein stresses the importance of spontaneity and flexibility when defining sex and he shares detailed clinical information and existential philosophy to help the reader develop what he calls ‘sexual intelligence.’ And he provides a blueprint to put it into practice.

I particularly love that Klein includes his own brand of sarcastic and, at times, wry humor. Knowing Dr Klein like I do, it feels like you’re having a conversation with the author himself.

Marty Klein is also one of the experts participating in the Art of Love Relationship series. Be sure to register for the FREE event to hear over 50 experts on the topic of love and relationships.
