Is there more intimacy in long-distance relationships?

I came across an interesting article regarding long-distance relationships. Our culture leads us to believe long-distance relationships are challenging and plagued by insecurity and jealousy. A study published in the Journal of Communication says this may not be true – “people in long-distance relationships often have stronger bonds from more constant, and deeper, communication than normal relationships.”
