A NON-PATHOLOGIC APPROACH
Participants will learn a non-pathological view of infidelity, sexual addiction, pornography, sexual abnormalities, and other types of sexual behaviors in order to treat couples fairly and efficiently. By learning a variety of skills in relationship to sexuality, lust, traditional and alternative sexual practices, therapist will be able to provide interventions with a clearer and more sustainable path for recovery and healing.
A PRACTICAL and FUN WORKSHOP
This is both a practical and fun workshop, in an open-minded environment. It will include discussions, lectures, films, and case studies. Also included free are exercises, handouts, resources, links, etc. This hands-on workshop is based on clinical experience with therapeutic practice and sex therapy techniques. Dr Tammy Nelson is an experienced therapist and an expert in relational interventions and Sexology.
NEW TOOLS
Most therapists who work with couples are faced with new challenges and dilemmas on sex and infidelity in the treatment room. Even for experienced psychotherapists who works with prejudices, guilt, shame, trauma, and resistance in a changing sexual climate characterised by fluid boundaries and openness, can the treatment be complicated and confusing. This workshop provides tools for more successful results in the therapeutic work.
OBJECTIVES: Participants will learn how to create a safe, non-pathological environment around sexuality and treatment of the couple. Participants will be able to communicate and work through their own unconscious resistance that can be triggered in the treatment of couples with sexual problems.
Dr. Tammy Nelson is a sex and relationship expert, international speaker and the author of several books including, “Getting the Sex You Want; Shed Your Inhibitions and Reach New Heights of Passion Together ” and her latest book” The New Monogamy; Redefining Your Relationship After Infidelity.” She is a certified sexologist, certified sex therapist, and certified Imago therapist. She has been an expert in Glamour Magazine, Cosmopolitan, NY Times, Washington Post, The SUN, Time Magazine, and others. She gives workshops and intensive courses for couples and trains therapists around the world on issues relating to sex and relationships.
