Resources for Parenting Transgender Kids

Parenting is a challenge. We try our best to be what our children need so that they can become the best version of themselves possible. But what do you do when you’re parenting a child who’s questioning their gender identity or who comes out as transgender? You may not have the language to even discuss these issues, and there may be concerns about how to protect your child from bullying or how to get them the care they need to be happy and fulfilled.

Transgender parenting resources are relatively new and it can be difficult to sort the good from the bad. Here’s a list of some good places to start if you’re embarking on this journey with your child, or if you want to become better educated.

The Human Rights Campaign also addresses the issue of a lack of resources and offers suggestions to parents of transgender children as well as general information.
