Description
This workshop provides clinicians with a strength-based approach to treat problematic and out of control sexual behavior (OCSB). Dr. Neil Cannon developed this treatment model as an alternative to using 12-Steps to treat the “sex addiction” disease model.
This is a gentle, non-shaming approach to help clients feel empowered and in control of their own sexual behaviors. This course conceptualizes a systemic, strength-based approach that includes assessment and treatment protocols for OCSB.
Methods are strength-based psychotherapy and relationship counseling, moving beyond the concept of “sex addict” and “enabler” toward empowerment, connection, and healthy sexuality.
Feelings of betrayal can be so intense with OCSB that relationships and entire family systems can be at risk. This workshop will equip the clinician with a process to help couples heal and re-establish trust.
Clinicians with all levels of experience will benefit from this workshop. This model is designed to enable the clinician to adapt to any working therapeutic model.
