Relationships have their own intimate language; the way we show love or feel loved can be intimate, passionate, erotic. Our relationships can be a way to find pleasure or a way to feel relaxed and safe. For some, relationships can be a path to spiritual enlightenment and connection. And for many of us, our relationships are also a place of conflict and power struggle.
Even in the best of times, good relationships don’t just happen. It takes focus to improve not just your companionship and your daily life but the erotic part of your relationship. This is the sacred commitment of any partnership. The erotic energy is the key to feeling alive and passionate and happy. When your soul yearns for more depth, it is calling out for more intimacy and more erotic connection.
It is hard to tell the truth about what you want in a relationship. Telling the truth to another person is the nature of true intimacy. Talking about your desires and your fantasies can bring up shame and embarrassment. Learning to talk about what you need in a relationship means being able to discuss your sexuality and your erotic needs, not just to have better sex but to live at a deeper, more connected place.
In this workshop, we will focus on creating your most intimate, deep, and passionate desires and explore what it means to ask for your needs to be met. We will learn how to heal from past betrayal and resentment and let go of anger and frustration. We will define and enhance your fantasies and discover what it means to give and receive pleasure.
Based on years of clinical work and research with couples and sexuality, this workshop will help you to explore new dimensions of spiritual intimacy.
Intimacy is a sacred practice. You can start this practice with yourself, without a partner, with your clothes on. This workshop will honor the erotic space as a spiritual space, and will help you navigate the path to a more connected self, will help you to heal from the past, and create a new vision of a more sacred space for empathy and belonging.
You will learn:
- what it takes to express your needs, share your desires, and improve your erotic life.
- to access your fantasy life and feel comfortable sharing with a loving partner.
- how your fantasies are formed and why you desire what you do
- to increase pleasure, give pleasure, and receive pleasure that works for you
- the definition of sexual empathy and how this influences your spiritual life
- the difference between spiritual mate, companion, and erotic partner
- the consequence of chosen monogamy and the anthropological effect on eroticism
- the meaning of the monogamy continuum and how to rewrite a monogamy agreement
- to understand sexual generosity and how to communicate in a way that reignites passion
This class is appropriate for couples and individuals looking to improve their erotic lives as well as therapists & health care professionals who want to learn to work with eroticism and spirituality.
NOTE: All sharing in this workshop is optional, there is no nudity or sexual contact between participants during the workshop. This workshop is a safe space run by a trained and licensed psychotherapist and certified sex therapist with over 30 years of experience.
