Integrative Sex and Couples Therapy is essential for all therapists to learn how sex therapy and relationship therapy can be used to help couples. In this workshop we will discuss practical, clinical interventions using real case examples. The future of integrative relationship therapy includes developing effective tools for the therapist to guide couples in a new relational therapy paradigm with its roots in sex therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment and object relations, and integrates neuroscience and alternative treatments.
– Participants will learn contemporary theories of relationship and sex therapy, within current relational paradigms.
-Participants will learn to communicate safely and effectively to address sexual concerns and anxieties.
-Participants will explore what is “normal,” sexual empathy, and how to create new monogamy agreements.
-Participants will cover methods of repair to relationships and how to explore deeper issues in therapy.
-Participants will have a chance to practice direct skills. These adaptive techniques can be used in therapy practice.
Participants will learn contemporary theories of relationship and sex therapy, within current relational paradigms. After an overview of clinical concepts in sex and couples therapy, participants will learn skills to teach their clients how to communicate safely and effectively and address sexual concerns and anxieties. We will also explore pathologies, identifying what is “normal,” what is sexual empathy, and how to create new monogamy agreements. We will cover methods of repair to relationships and explore deeper issues in therapy. Participants will have a chance to practice direct skills in class and review cases and interventions.
This workshop will present clinical treatment interventions for sexual relationships including problems of low sex or sexless relationships, desire and arousal discrepancy, infidelity and monogamy dilemmas.
The dilemmas for therapists working with couples and sex can trigger counter transference, projection and hopelessness for the therapist and couples can face frustration and repeat patters that lead to destructive behaviors individually and with a partner. Some sex therapists need better couple therapy training and some couple’s therapists need the right tools to intervene with sexual dilemmas. Based on clinical practice, research and case examples, we will cover integrative sex and couple’s therapy interventions and learn how these impact current therapy techniques. This workshop will help participants shift into a new vision for their own work, for a more effective therapeutic relationship, and for a new future for integrative therapy.
Most therapist need more training in order to work with couples and have little experience in sex therapy interventions. Couples therapists need sex therapy skills and sex therapists need relationship interventions. This training integrates the latest in alternative treatment strategies for both sex and couple’s therapy.
This training will present clinical treatment interventions for sexual relationships including problems of low sex or sexless relationships, desire and arousal discrepancy, infidelity and monogamy dilemmas.
This training with Tammy Nelson combines the most contemporary treatment in each of these areas; sex therapy, relationship therapy and integrative treatment and gives participants the integration of all three of these sets of skills; Integrative Sex and Couples therapy, Sex Therapy. Relationship therapy.
