Apr 28 (Wed) 10 am – 1 pm (EST) – Desire and Attachment; Using Sex and Couples Therapy with Wendy Miller, LMFT

In this class we will address the conundrum of desire and attachment, do they enhance each other or complicate matters? What is a love/lust split? What actually is desire, this thing everyone wants more of? Is desire even necessary for a thriving sex life? Attendees will learn practical tools for integrating sex therapy into their work to enrich their effectiveness in working with those challenging couples who report a lack of sexual interest. Case material will be presented. Come with your questions.

Apr 28 (Wed) 2 pm – 6 pm (EST) – Individual vs. Relationship treatment; Sex Counseling Through an Attachment and Relational Lens with Tammy Nelson, Ph.D.

Treating lack of sexual passion. Bring your toughest cases for the afternoon class and we will use the Integrative Sex Therapy model to review and explore what a positive treatment outcome would look like for each case, determining the individual vs relationship therapy model, how the client’s relationship with the therapist plays a part, the attachment lens of the therapist and it’s role in the treatment and the latest research in the neurological basis of late-stage differentiation and separation.

Apr 29 (Wed) 10 am – 6 pm (EST) – Clinical Strategies: Defining, Re-defining, and Negotiating Open Relationship Structures with Martha Kauppi, LMFT

Do you have clients who want to move from monogamy to some form of consensually open relationship? Or clients who are unclear on one another’s relational expectations? Are you prepared to help clients navigate their differences of opinion regarding opening up, or any other aspect of relational negotiation?

Join Martha Kauppi as she presents a framework for helping clients engage effectively in important conversations as they define and re-define their relationships. Participants will increase their understanding of open relationships, develop competence through case discussion, and develop an understanding of practical clinical interventions that are effective when working with consensual non-monogamies.

You may register for any combination of individual days. Student discounts available, email in your tuition: eWorkbook for the module, compiled by Tammy Nelson, Ph.D. with additional reading material and resources.
