The internet has brought many of our cultural dilemmas around sexuality to the forefront. More people engage with porn, online dating and relationships, cybersex, and teledildonics than ever before. Therapists need tools to engage with individuals and couples who experience conflict and shame around sex, intimacy, boundaries, and technology.
In this course, Dr. Tammy Nelson reviews ethical guidelines to approach conversations around cybersex, porn, and other conflicts that arise with internet technologies.
Learning Objectives:
In this training, participants will:
- Identify couples with power struggles, desire discrepancy, and guilt resulting from cybersex injuries;
- Create interventions to unlock erotic shame, fear, and trauma after betrayal for the cheater and the betrayed;
- Explain alternate methods for couples to learn new sexual boundaries and open up communication around cybersex behaviors;
- Outline how couples can create healthier communication in order to take emotional risks after cybersex boundary violations.
