Beyond Sexual Trauma: Transforming Fear

$0.00$50.00

Description

It is well known that the immobilizing fear that follows trauma is a major reason both individuals and couples seek relationship counseling and sex therapy. Yet most health professionals lack the training and supervision to help clients re-energize and reconnect with their authentic sexual selves. This series offers safe, tested techniques you can use immediately in client sessions. Tammy Nelson, an Imago therapist and sexologist, and Gina Ogden, a sex therapist, researcher, and supervisor combine their decades of expertise in a series of practice-oriented teleseminars that offer information to help clinicians assess and treat a wide range of sexual problems that result from trauma.

**In honor of Gina Ogden’s passing, I offer her courses with me for free, for you, while we remember her voice as a leader in the world of sex therapy and trauma. In order to receive your CE, please place both the Course and the CE fee in your cart.

You two are absolutely superb trainers.” – Dr. Patti Britton, Co-founder of Sex Coach U; Past President, American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists

Session 1: When Pleasure Becomes a Dirty Word:  How clients’ fears block sexual desire and joy.
If you are feeling stuck with your clients and unsure how to move them into relaxed awareness and healing relationships, they may be having a trauma response that is blocking them from fully living in their sexual expression. Learn ways to help them release pain, trauma, and memory.

Session 2: The Roots of Sexual Resistance: Why your clients are still in shock and what to do about it.
Brain research, neuroscience, body and somatic studies, all reveal that there are many ways that people hold onto trauma energetically and emotionally, and just because trauma is stored in the body doesn’t mean it can never be unpacked.

Session 3: Mobilizing Stuck Clients: Innovative techniques for transforming sexual fears and phobias.
The newest in research and interventions – including some you may never have heard of.   This session will give you specific techniques for working with trauma that will focus on ways to work with blocks and move clients forward into intimacy.

Session 4: Life Beyond Sexual Fear: Helping clients open themselves to erotic curiosity and love.
Many trauma clients feel hopeless and depressed, experiencing anxiety, long term relationship issues, substance abuse, and other addictions.  Letting go of fears and opening frozen neural pathways can help clients to move beyond the fear and into a new curiosity about sex and romantic love.

Session 5: Transforming Our Own Fears: Using countertransference to help clients recover sexual authenticity.
Therapists and healers are often confused about how to use their own trauma experiences to help their clients. Boundaries are traditionally rigid and we are unclear what to do when we are triggered in the sessions or by our cclient’s issues.  Learn ways to be authentic and have your own genuine expression in the sessions while using your work for your own personal and spiritual growth.
