Counseling; Relating in Relationship30 hours

Integrative Sex and Couples Therapy is a new field of learning for all therapists that builds on and provides the fundamentals of relationship psychotherapy, interventions for alternative relationships and provides not only a solid clinical foundation but also takes a deep dive into ever more challenging case work.

Courses include the fundamentals of couple’s therapy and how to relate in relationship, both as the therapist to the client and within the therapeutic dyad.   Courses cover the dynamics of reflective dialogue and students learn interventions including reflective dialogue skills, validation vs forgiveness, empathy, relational recovery, group therapy, and how to create new monogamy agreements.  Courses include a solid theoretical training in multiple schools of relationship therapy and therapeutic interventions from varied models of thought in order to best serve a variety of clients.

Goals of the courses in these categories include how to counsel couples in beginning sessions, and with more difficult issues, and how to create a vision for the future.   The courses teach participants how to heal the relational space from trauma, betrayal, neglect and how to create intentional divorce if necessary.

Participants in these courses may apply CE’s toward the 16 hours required for AASECT CST certification and be eligible for the 30 hours required for the new Certification in Sex and Couples Therapy (CSCT) offered by the Integrative Sex Therapy Training Institute.
