According to a recent survey by Today.com and SELF magazine which builds on a previous study by the National Endowment for Financial Education, 58% of people hide money from their spouses. Techniques include keeping cash tucked away, hiding purchases, and stretching the truth about money spent. The survey revealed that 60% of participants rank financial infidelity with sexual infidelity, and believe that lying about money can lead to lying about sex; any lie leads to a break in trust. Experts say to make financial decisions as a team, agree on a budget, and be honest and transparent about your money issues.
